Does Everything…. Safely!
Ashwagandha seems to do everything. And a new study says that it does it safely.
Recent research on ashwagandha is revealing its tremendous versatility and value. Ashwagandha is an important herb for anxiety, stress, insomnia, schizophrenia, OCD, cognition, female sexual function, male sexual function, male infertility, COVID, muscle strength and more.
A new study suggests that the great herb does all of this safely. The study included 94 men and 97 women with an average age of 40.7. Each one took 600mg of a well studied ashwagandha root extract every day for a year.
There were no serious adverse events. The few mild adverse events that there were–6 people had nausea, 3 had abdominal pain, 3 had headaches, 2 had vomiting, 2 had dizziness and 1 had diarrhea–all resolved on their own. There were no negative effects on liver, kidney or thyroid function parameters.
Testosterone increased. Far from having any negative effects, quality of life improved significantly, as did the Clinical Global Impressions scale, which measures the progress of psychiatric treatments. The researchers concluded that ashwagandha root extract is safe.
